The men and women of the 115th Fighter Wing at Truax Field are our friends, neighbors and fellow community members. The base is an integral part of the greater Madison community, and it is has been chosen as a home for state-of-the-art F-35 aircraft. A successful acquisition of these aircraft will positively benefit the area in a number of ways, including hundreds of millions of dollars in economic impact in the years ahead.

Offer your support during the public comment period on the Air Force and National Guard’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS)

No formal date has been scheduled for the release of the F-35 DEIS, which will address the identification of Truax as the Preferred Alternative site by the Air Force to host the F-35 for its 5th (Ops 5) site. The Department is focused on releasing a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliant DEIS that is complete and accurate in its findings. Citizens can submit written comments during the public comment period which follows release of the Draft EIS and precedes the preparation of a Final EIS, which takes into account information gathered during the public comment period.
